The Dreaded Haircut

I FINALLY gave in to Blake's request of cutting Popo's hair. Here's a few before, during, and after pics. He does look very handsome, but I miss his long hair already. I guess we'll just let it grow out again through fall and winter.

Marshall turned 6!

Marshall wanted a campfire birthday. Perfect I thought...super easy! Hardest part was finding a spot close to home with picnic tables, a campfire pit, and no fees. We ended up going to the reservoir. We had lunch with roasted hot dogs & marshmallows over the fire and I gave in to getting a pinata. 

I told him it was going to be a low key party, since he had a big party last year. So he wanted to invite his two best friends (we ended up inviting their whole families). This is Brooklyn and Korbin, who are both in his primary class. 

They had a great time playing by the water and cooking over the fire but of course, the pinata, was the highlight!!

We had the kids line up by age and they all took turns hitting the Minon. It was one super tough Minon, they all had plenty of hitting time. As you can see by their faces they had a BLAST!

Looks like this can be a dangerous activity, if you are sitting too close to the destroyer. Papa Sid just barely dodges a big swing!

SO MUCH FUN!!

We finally decided after a couple rounds to let the birthday boy just have at it. They were chanting his name...oh my goodness he was in HEAVEN! haha

Marshall's campfire cake with marshmallow creme in the middle. I actually enjoyed making this cake (no disasters), especially the candy fire.  Marshall just said as I'm typing this, "that was the best birthday EVER!" He said he wants this same birthday next year.  :)

Reed 's Potty Training

Reed has had his unique style of potty training, that is different than the other boys. He has to be in charge. But he is in undies now and stays dry all night.

Reed 's Leprosy

After the rashes were gone, the' hands, foot and mouth' had caused Reed's skin to blister and die on the tips of his fingers and toes. Yikes! Poor guy.

Plants

Mom wanted to see how the plants were doing that she helped me plant around the deck. I told her They were changing colors and she was curious to see. So here they are. I think they look pretty cool.

Porter's growing up.....wish his coordination skills would too

We finally got Porter's big boy bed all painted and set up. He loves it so much! In fact, a little too much. We had it up for maybe 10 min and he kept jumping on it. We told him to stop because he would get hurt but he didn't listen. Hence, the black eye. Thank you Homers for the bed, it was a huge blessing! (In other ways besides the black eye)

Fourth of July Cabin Trip

I think we should get one of these framed and hang it at the cabin. Help me pic which one. Crazy to think that this picture is already outdated, now that we have Baby Jett added to the bunch! He didn't want to hold still for a picture. It seems like he had a good day. Long, but a positive experience, thankfully. It was weird having him gone for 6 hours.
